Okou vs Claude Tag

Claude Tag works in shared Slack channels, using channel context and configured tools. Okou offers agents and reusable workflows across web, Slack and other channels, with models you choose per chat.

Pick Claude Tag if

Your team works in Slack and wants Claude to pick up channel context, investigate issues and follow up proactively. Your organization already uses Claude Team or Enterprise and can configure Tag’s connections and spending limits.

Pick Okou if

You want shared agents with separate roles, a choice of model providers, and research you can start on the web or in other supported channels. Okou has a free entry plan; Tag requires an eligible Claude organization.

Compare the work, access and cost

Both give the agent standing instructions and a schedule, both work in a Slack thread, and both keep an admin in control of what it can reach. Those are not differences.

What you are actually choosing between

01

Where shared work lives

Tag’s shared context and governance are organized around Slack channels, identities and configured tools. Okou organizes work around named shared or private agents and reusable workflows. Both can support team work; choose the structure your colleagues will actually use.

02

Not locked to one vendor's models

In Okou, choose a model per chat; Auto is the system default. Availability follows the current catalog, plan, workspace policy and selected provider. Eligible personal Claude or Codex subscriptions can be connected on Free and paid plans.

03

A free entry plan or organization usage billing

Okou starts with 1,000 credits valid for 30 days. Tag requires a Claude Team or Enterprise organization, but people do not each need a Claude seat to use it in channels. Channel work draws from an organization usage balance under an owner-set spending limit.

04

Test research through to the deliverable

Give both products the same question, sources and time budget. Ask for links supporting material claims, explicit gaps and a recommendation, then a report, deck or update in the tool your team uses. Both can do research; compare the evidence and finished work, not just the length of the answer.

Where Claude Tag may fit better

Proactive participation in Slack
Tag explicitly supports watching channels, following stalled threads and tagging people when a decision is needed. Okou also supports recurring and event-driven workflows; compare the particular Slack behavior you want rather than assuming only one product can act in the background.
It reads the whole room
Tag it into a long, messy thread and it picks up the context everyone already shares — the screenshots, the back-and-forth, the decision — without being briefed.
Investigation from a shared thread
Tag’s docs cover tracing incidents, querying business data and opening draft fix PRs from a channel. It can be a good fit when the evidence and the people reviewing the result already live in the same Slack discussion.
Channel participants need not each buy a seat
An eligible Claude organization can let people in its paired Slack workspace use Tag in channels without individual Claude seats. That work still consumes the organization’s usage balance; it is not unlimited or free.

Okou vs Claude Tag FAQ

Does everyone need a paid Claude seat to use Tag?

No. The organization needs a Team or Enterprise plan, but Slack users do not each need a Claude seat to use Tag in channels by default. Channel work is billed to an organization usage balance. Connected one-to-one DMs follow the sender’s seat limits.

Does Claude Tag work outside Slack?

Not yet. Slack is the only live surface; Microsoft Teams is announced with a waitlist. Okou is available on the web, Slack, Telegram, and phone/SMS.

Can I keep using Claude models if I move to Okou?

In Okou, choose a model per chat; Auto is the system default. Availability follows the current catalog, plan, workspace policy and selected provider. Eligible personal Claude or Codex subscriptions can be connected on Free and paid plans.

Can both products do recurring work?

Yes. Tag supports schedules, channel watching and proactive follow-ups. Okou supports reusable workflows with schedules and event triggers. Check the exact source and trigger your workflow needs.

How is team access organized?

Tag provides channel-scoped identities, tools, skills and memory, with optional personal connectors. Okou provides up to seven shared agents plus unlimited private agents, with each caller’s own connections and grants. Neither should be described as lacking team controls.
